BARTON BROS.' CIRCUS.

TO-NlGtfr.

This well-known and popular circus is to open in New Plymouth to-night. The circus is of considerable magnitude, and comprises some 70 horses and ponies and 45 performers, English, American and Continental stars, all new'to New Zealand, all of whom have been recently engaged by Captain F. Barton for the*pre-/ sent lour. Perhaps the best item of 32* acts is supplied by the Roman Gladiators presenting the greatest and most sensational athletic acts of modern times, "The Brid«e of Death." Mounter and Franz will form themselves into a human bridge and allow a 30cwt motorcar with seven passengers in it to pass over their prostrate bodies, a tremendous and daring feat of strength. Other performers include the Waldolf family, Miss Mena Val, Miss Ruby French, and Alicia; and Tasman, the two ju jitsu experts in Japanese wrestling. The«>circus will arrive this morning and parade the town, enlivened by the brass band of ten players. Popular prices will be charged, viz., 2s and 3s, and no doubt a. good season awaits the management , in New Plymouth of this popular circus.
