CRICKET.
THE BOARD OF CONTROL. VAST PROTEST, MEETING.By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. Received 12, 12.30 a.m. Sydney, March 11. There was a vast crowd at the Town Hall meeting to protest against the action of the Board of Control. It was decided almost unanimously that the action of the Board was inimical to the best interests of Australian cricket. The appearance of Noble was the signal for terrific applause. It did not cease until he rose and acknowledged the compliment. Mr. Holman declared that the Board had violated the constitution by ignoring .rule 9. Although the Board had refused to give the players an answer to the question concerning the appointment of a manager, it dsked for the uncondiI tional acceptance of the invitation. He considered that what was sauce for the goose should be sauce for the gander. Mr. Wade said that even at this late hour something should be done to see that Australia was represented by its best team. As at present constituted, it was not the best. There should be give and take 'on both sides. His sympathies were with the six players had re'liisc/fl to fall in with the Board's demand. ,
