Jennings (Queensland) vice-captain. NEW SOUTH WALES DEFEATS QUEENSLAND. Received 10, 5.5 p.m. Brisbane, March 10. Queensland in the second innings scored 79. New South Wales' first inn- ' ings realised 228, Diamond (not out) 105, Scott 44. In the second innings New South Wales lost no wickets for 33, and won by ten wickets. THE AUSTRALIAN TEAM. Important developments in the cricket ' dispute may be expected in a few days. .Warner cabled to the Marylebone C.C., saying he believed that a cable urging that the best team possible should be sent Home in view -of the triangular tests will have a good effect here and will make for peace. He received the following reply from Lord Desborough, president of the Marylebone Club: "As president, I am certain that the counties and all English cricketers will be bitterly disappointed if Australja is not represented at the triangular contests . by her best team."

A representative cricket match i was played on Saturday between Manawatu and Hawke's Bay Sub-Union in wet weather, and resulted in a win for Manawatu by 32 runs. Hawke's Bay scored 48 and 116, and Palmerston 96 and 99.
LAW BEATS UNITED SERVICE. j On the Recreation Ground on Saturday Law defeated United Service by 26 ' runs. Batting first Service compiled 105,; Colville making a good stand with 30. Sullivan hit out while he lasted, knocking up 18. Dinniss (13) and Weller (10) were the only others to reach double figures. Scoring was very slow, the out-' i field being very dead. Law opened well, and the winning hit wa® made before the 'fall of the fourth wicket. Paton and | Bewley opened, and 31 runs -tare scored I before Bewley was run out. Lash had hard luck in being thrown out just as he was settling down. Greatbatch was responsible for the feature of the afternoon, knocking up 47 runs in about 15 minutes. He hit three sixers, the last two in succession. The tail failed to wag. This win makes Law level with Service, bringing the competition to a very interesting stage. Scores:— UNITED SERVICE.
