The following programme has been arranged for the High School swimming sports, which will be held on Pukekura Park lake on Thursday next:— Senior Championship.—2syds, 50yds, 100 yds, 220 yds. ' Junior Championship.—2syds, 50yds, f 100 yds. Open Eventß.—soyds open, 100 yds! open, 25yds open, 200 yds open, breast stroke 50yds, back stroke 25yds, long dive, neat dive, diving for plates, 15yds (new boys), relay race (gymnasium teams), crocodile race, pick-a-back race, old bo|jp' race 100 yds. NEW PLYMOUTH MILE CHAM- 1 PIONSOIP. i The race for the mile swimming championship of New Plymouth eventuated at the Municipal Baths this week end. Considerable interest waß evinced, in the race, as if Pfankuch, who had won on the two previous, occasions, suceeded in repeating the performance, the cup would become his own private* property. He won the event and also the cup. The water was very cold when the three competitors, Pfankuch, .Wilson and Francis faced the starter. At the end of 14 laps the two latter retired, leaving f Pfankuch to finish the course alone. ' Time, 31min.
