In regard to an article in the Lyttelton Times stating that an American and Canadian syndicate lias obtained an area of N.oon.ono acres in I'razil, and is carrying on a large business tln-re with chilled bi'ef. Air. J. Munroe. of Giristcliui'ch, slates tliat his nephew, Mr. M. McKenyje. is president of the company, which was founded by Sir Perceval Parker, of Dundee, and is really a British concern. Its title is the Cattle Packing and Shippin,? Company. It has 350.000 cattle and half a million sheep and the same number of pigs. The operations are on a large scale, the company doing all its own shipping. . It is intended to improve the breed of cattle with a cross of the Hereford and Devon strains.
