CYCLONE IN SOUTH AUSTRALIA
LIGHTHOUSE AND STEAMER WRECKED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 10, 5.5 p.m. Adelaide, March 10. A cyclone visited the central portion of the State. The steamer Waipawa, lying at Edithburg, was driven from her moorings, and subsequently drifted ashore, A lighthouse on the jetty was blown down. Severe damage was done to buildings at Adelaide, where roofs were lifted and chimneys blewn down. STEAMER TOWED OFF. Received 11, 1.15 a.m. Adelaide, March 10. If was the steamer Waipori, not the Waipawa', which went aground, and the steamer has been towed off apparently uninjured.
