CHAMPION ARNST. DICTATES TERMS TO DURNAN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 7, 8.50 p.m. Sydney, March 7. Arnst has received a cable from Jim Field, agreeing to act for him in the negotiations for his race with Barry, and asking him to send £IOO deposit. The Thames Rowing Club has " also cabled inviting Arnst to train there. A third cable from Durnan asks Arnst to state terms for a match with no boat money. Arnst interprets this to mean that i Durnan's backers want to offer him a ! fixed sum to row on Lake Toronto, they taking all the proceeds from the steamers viewing the race. _ Arnst states that if, Durnan wants him to stand out of half share of the [gate, he wants £SOO expenses and will 'race for £SOO aside. If Durnan agrees to these terms he will have to wait for the race till September, after he has met Barry. ;
