BANKRUPTCY COURT.

SITTING AT NEW PLYMOUTH. At a sitting of the Bankruptcy Court at Xew Plymouth yesterday a number of applications for discharge came before,- Mr, -Justiee- Sim. - . Mr. Speiice appeared on behalf of Albert Burton Clarke, who was granted an immediate discharge, and Joseph Sharrock, whose discharge was suspended for six months. William J. C. Blackstock, for whom Mr. Wilson appeared, was also granted an immediate discharge, while the application of Albert Edward Burgess was adjourned till next sitting of the Court. Alfred Ellenson also applied for a discharge, which was opposed by Mr. Wilson, who appeared for two creditors— Mrs. Goveniock (£I32J and Edward Hartwell ( £46 for wages)—unless it was made subject to the debtor consenting to judgment being entered up against him for at any rate a portion of the debts. Debtor had not, . said counsel, given a satisfactory explanation of his dealings to the Assignee. Mr. C. H. Weston, who appeared for applicant, said his position was entirely due to one contract and one misfortune. Since his last contract he had been earning on an average only 306 a week.

After partially hearing the evidence of bankrupt His Honor adjourned the application until next sitting of the Court.
