There was a typical autumn day, with bright sunshine, for the third day of then V.R.C. autumn meeting. There was a big holiday crowd. Lord Penman, Gov-ernor-General and Sir J. Fuller, K.C.M.G., Governor of Victoria, were present. Following are the results:— _ • Hopeful Stakes. —Widgiewa 1, Blairmount 2, Count Traquair and Aleconner (dead heat) 3. There were 15 starters. Won by a head, two lengths between second and third. Time, lmin. 2%seo. ALL AGED STAKES, a sweepstake of 10 sovs, with £IOOO added; second horse £2OO, and third £IOO out of the ■ ■;, stakes.
