SALE OF TOWN PROPERTY. By Association. Hastings, Last Night. The property known as Beecroft's Block, subdivided into twenty-three business sites, frontages to Queen street, and Karamu, was offered at auction 'this afternoon. Twelve were sold at £6O per foot, two at £SO, and one at £52 10s per foot. HARVESTING DELAYED. Timaru, Last Night. To-day was the wettest of the season, two inches of rain having fallen in the last 24 hours. --It will prove disastrous to farmers having grain in stook. The ground is so saturated that carting of threshed grain was put a stop to. There is a good deal of grain in stook and a considerable quantity yet uncut.
DEPARTURE OF URUGUAYAN COMMISSIONERS. Wellington, Last Night. The Uruguayan Commissioners completed their tour of New Zealand to-day, and sail for San Francisco bv the Tahiti to-morrow. Tliev express' their warm appreciation of the facilities accorded to them by the Government officials, A. and P. Societies, and others, thus enabling them to gather much information of value to them. • ,
