A WOMAN'S CRIME. *

At Lynn, Massachusetts, Miss Jessie Chapman walked up to a neighbor with •whom she had quarrelled and, drawing a revolver, fired six shots at her. The neighbor, Mrs. Florence Ingullis, died instantly. Miss Chapman gave herself up, admitting the crime.
STOLEN JEWELLERY RECOVERED. Received 8, 12.50 a.m. Vienna, March 7. The police have recovered £40,000 worth of jewels stolen from Countess Szeehenzi, formerly Mrs. Vanderbilt, at Budapest.
THE BAGHDAD RAILWAY. Received 8, 12.30 a.m. Constantinople, March 7. The newspaper Tanin states that negotiations have been-opened in Britain in connection with the Persian Gulf section of the Baghdad railway. THE IRISH ENVOYS. Received 8, 12.50 a.m. Sydney, March 7. The Irish envoys held a large and enthusiastic meeting in the Town Hall, and a large sum was collected.
