PERSONAL.
Mr. A. C. Cafmer has been appointed engineer for the Invercargill TownCouncil. Senior-Sergeant Dart, of Timaru, is at present at New Plymouth on, Supreme Court business. Sergeant Griffiths,, of Hawera, is also in town. Mr. H. D. Bell, K.C., of Wellington, arrived in New Plymouth by last night's mail train in connection with important civil business at the Supreme Court. On the application of his brother, Mr. R, Spence, Mr. Samuel Spence, of Stratford, was at the Supreme Court yester* 'day morning admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court. The Rev. H. Sharp, of the Fitzroy Primitive Methodist Church, who is under transfer to Geraldine, was entertained by his congregation in the Fitzroy Hall on Monday evening. During the evening, Mr R. Pepperell, circuit steward, who presided, on behalf of the church workers and the Christian Endeavor Society, presented Rev. Sharp with a silvermounted umbrella and a writing case.
