SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Lost Night. - The Meteorological Office has issued the following weather summary and forecast: —The barometer rose high in the south on Sunday, 30.49 in. being recorded at noon at the Bluff, while a low pressure ruled in the north. Rain has fallen in most parts of the country, and has continued in many districts of the North Island. A south-easterly gale '■'■■ sprang up in Cook Straits on Saturday ' evening and spread northward. The weather improved in the south to-day. , Present indications are for easterly grinds, decreasing and veering to northerly and then increasing again after _. about sixteen hours.
