For the band contest, to be hell' October 14 to 19, the following prize money has been allotted:—A Grade: £2OO, £75, £SO and £25; B Grade, £75, £3O, £ls, and £lO. Quickstep £25, £ls, £lO and £5. It is understood that at least one Australian band will compete. FUNDS FOR A NEW COLLEGE. Auckland, Saturday. At a banquet tendered to the delegates to the Methodist Conference by the New Theological College Committee last night, it was announced that the sum of oyer £7,200 had been subscribed towards the building fund <of a new college. Promises of £9OO were made in the room.
