THE AUSTRALIAN TURF. Flemington, March 3. Sires' Produce Stakes.—Sheriff 1, Wolawa 2, Tadaga 3. Also started: Sikander, Kwasina and Gold Brew. Gold Brew led to the tan from Wolawa and Tadaga. Here the latter went to the front, with Wolawa under the whip, and Gold Brew close up. While these three were fighting out the race in the straight, Sheriff shot out and drew away, winning easily by'a length, a short neck between second and third. Time, lmin iS^sec. Essendon Plate.—Trafalgar 1, Comedy King 2, Cadonia 3. Also started: Flavel, Matourie, Prizefighter and . Saxonite. Prizefighter went off at a great bat, six lengths ahead of Comedy King, Trafalgat and Flavel.. After a gap-came Cadonia, Matourie, 'and Saxonite. Comedy"King moved to the front and led past the abattoirs from Trafalgar, with Prizefighter three lengths' away, and Flavel the same, distance ahead of Cadonia; 'Matourie and Saxonite. Comedy King, on the inside, was passed by Trafalgar, who led into the straight and drew away easily from Comedy King, who was ha*rd ridden. Trafalgar'won by a length and a quarter. Cadonia made a very fast run in pursuit, but was four lengths im the rear. Time, 2min 35sec. The winner was wildly cheered in all parts of the ground. Brunswick Handicap.— Kurnell 1, Prince Lack 2, Braw Scot 3. Fifteen started., Braw Scot made the running and led into the straight from Wassail, Kurnell, Golden Point and Prince Lack. Light rain fell during the greater part of the day. The attendance was again large. " The tote handled £25,662, aS) against £15,241 on the Becond day of 'last year.' The total for the meeting was £46,441, as against £31,369 last year. Results:— Autumn Handicap.—Lady Moutba 1, Sea Queen 2, Red Lupin 3. All started. Won by three-quarters of a length. NOTES ON THE MEETING. By Telegraph—By "Mc-turoa." Wanganui, Last Night, The weather spoilt the second day's racing, several events being got off in heavy rain. Miscal, Plantation and Golden Loop were the best backed in the Autumn. Handicap. Sea Queen made the running to the turn, where Lady Moutoa ranged alongside, and in a good finish the latter won by a length. Miscal and Golden Loop were slow to leave the tapes, but finished fast. The bracketed pair, Aloha and Dirge, carried most money in the Matarawa Handicap. Lady Volga led until reaching the distance, where St. Gate headed her. Aloha finished fast, winning on the post. Mr. Highden's pair started a warm order for the Jackson Stakes. Ermengarde led all .the way, lasting long enough to beat Royal Scotch by a neck in record time. Autumnus ran second until fifty yards from th«! finish. Nothing but Reumac was fancied for the Fordell Hurdles. Euroco made therunning to the last hurdle, where Leolanter joined issue and beat him home in a close finish. 'Punters went solidly for Seaman and Allure for the Hack Hurdles. Brilliancy led for a mile, and was then joined by Allure. Darby Paul ran to the lead at the last hurdle, and won- comfortably from Sandy Paul, who finished fast. Bismarck tailed off all the way. The public came strongly at Mr. Buckley's horses, Dearest and St.'.PetersWg, in the Wanganui Stakes. The latter's girth broke soon'after the start. Dearest was always handy, and won by a narrow margin from the fast finishing Midnight Sun. Goodwin Park, Lady Menschikoff, TJhlando and Jargon were all close up. It was a great finish, the six horses being almost in a line. Matlow and Leonta were favorites for the Harrison Hack Handicap, Grandee made the running to tEe Dome turn, Fashion Plate coming right away and
