CANADA AND AUSTRALIA.
TRADE RELATIONS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, March 1. A merchant who is gping on business to Canada had an interview with Mr. Tudor, Minister for Customs, and complained that owing to the lack of shipping facilities New Zealand was reaping the benefit of Australia's pioneering work. Under present conditions Australia had to be content with New Zealand's leavings as regards refrigerating space. No butter had been shipped since the mscontinuance of the SydneyVancouver service last year. Mr. Tudor indicated the probability of an early agreement between Canada and Australia on the subject of a reciprocal tariff. Negotiations had already been opened, and the urgency of the question was fully recognised. Until reciprocity was agreed upon it was useless to discuss a direct shipping service.
