By Telegraph— Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. At the Magistrate's Court at Milton to-day, a youth named George Hamilton was charged with failing to register under the Defence Act. Captain Henderson, area officer, stated that several attempts had been made to induce defendant to register. Defendant's brother said that defendant would not register nor attend the court. The Department oould do what it liked. Mr. Bartholomew, S.M., imposed a fine of £5, with costs, remarking that conduct such as defendant s could not he tolerated under any circumstances.
