A MURDEROUS MONK.
EXTRAORDINARY DISCLOSURES. By Cable—Press Association— Copyright. St. Petersburg, February 28. In October 'l9lO the Austrian police arrested a monk named Macooch on a charge of murdering his cousin and eloping with his widow. He was also charged with committing a great jewel robbery at Czenstochowa, Poland, in October, 1908. His trial is now proceeding at Petrikoff, and there are hundreds of witnesses. The chief prisoner is Father Damazy Macooch, who, after his arrest, the Pope excommunicated. Macoch confessed that he murdered his cousin Vaclar Macooch, through whom he had sold tfie jewels. Fearing his cousin would divulge the plot, prisoner murdered him, and, the body was sewn inside a sofa, which was subsequently i found in the river.
