AUSTRALIAN TEAM FOR ENGLAND. By Cable-rPress Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 28. A team of New South Wales bowlers will leave on March 27 for a tour in England. NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. The semi-finals have been reached in j the Champion Cup and Handicap Pairs competitions on the New Plymouth green. In the last round of the cup H. Smart beat Morrison, S. Rundle beat Firth, A. K. Smart beat Penn, and C. semi-final S. Rtfndle plays H. Smart and A. K. Smart plays Medley. In the last round of the pairs Wood and Firth beat J. C. Morey and Ewing, Goodacre and Luscombe beat Mannix and S. Rundle,. Waugh' and H. Smart beat Fookes and Medley, and Hooper and A. K. Smart beat Perry and Paul. In the. semi-final Goodacre and Luscombe (rec. 5) play A. K. Smart and Hooper, and Waugh and H. Smart play Wood and Firth (rec. 5). Both rounds are to be completed by March 14. West End Bowling Club will be represented by the following rinks in a match against Waitara this afternoon on the West End greens:—Beal (skip), J. Lye, Hoskin, Woodj C. N. Johnson (skip), J. D. Sole, Hammond, Lobb; Firth (skip), Fred Newell, J. Johnson, Curtis; E. Lee (skip), Martin, Jones, Corney. Waitara rinks will be as follows: Rattenbury, Klenner, W. Nosworthy, Andrews (skip); George, Fraser, Pulford, Beckbessinger (skip); Hellier, j L. Sampson, Jack, Wyllio (skip); Hut- i chinson, Bent,, Gilbert, W. Sa,mpson : (skip); T. Knuckcy, Foreman, Jenkins, J Buchanan (skip). Emergencies: Ogle, Calder, C. Sampson, Koyle and Stead. The first three rinks will compete for the banner.
