WANGANUI MEETING. ON THE EVE OP THE CUP. ' By Telegraph—Special to News. Wanganui, Last Night. There is a slight rain falling to-night, and the prospects are not too promising for the meeting. Training operations were mostly restricted to sprinting this morning. Crown Pearl dashed off four furlongs strongly in 50 sec., and Rawinia covered the same distance in 52sec. Dearest ran a mile and a half at a good pace, finishing fast. Boanerges went well over five furlongs in lmin. 3see., and Ermingarde did likewise. Royal Scotch ran five furlongs in lmin. 4sec. Gipsy Belle put up a trifle better gallop." Bronze led Midnight Sun at the end of a mile, and Maxwell was beaten off. The time was lmin. 45sec.
Goodwin Park also ran a mile, and appeared to be sore. Rangiatua beat.Master Sylvia over a fast run five furlongs. Undecided was sprinted, and looks very fit.
Grandee and Montiform cut out six furlongs in lmin. 17sec., whilst Theodore took a second longer over the same journey. Merrie Frank ran six furlongs smartly in lmin. 16sec.
