RIOTS AT BROKEN HILL.
EXCITED WOMEN STRIKERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 28. The proceedings at Broken Hill in connection with the strike were exciting. Batches of strikers paraded the streets, marched to the different hotels, and. made many hostile demonstrations. They raided the Commercial Hotel, wrecked the, dining-room, invaded the kitchen, ate 'a quantity of food, threw the remainder on the floor, and strewed pepper about. A crowd of over a, thousand took possession of the main street. The women leaders were intoxicated with excitemeat, and behaved in an extraordinary manner. The police with difficulty prevented an actual riot. A conference is pioceeding.
