WHEAT AND FLOUR. By Telegraph—Preis Association. London, February 25. The wheat and flour afloat for the L'uited Kingdom is 3,260,000 quarters, for the Continent 1,200,000 quarters, Atlantic shipments 103,000 quarters, Pacific 16,000 quarters. The total shipments to Europe for the week amounted to 1,065,000 quarters, including Argentina 285,000 quarters, Russian 150,000 quarters, Danubian 160,000 quarters, Indian 113,000 quarters, and Australian 164,000 quarters. (Note: Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on spot). Mutton.—The market is quiet, and prices slightly weaker. A fair demand continues, and the output is satisfactory. North Island 3%d to 4%d, according to quality. Lamb.—The market is dull, awing to the poor demand. Buyers have sufficient supplies to last for the present requirements. Canterbury 5%d, North Island freely offered at an average of 5%d, best quality 4y B d, secondary Australian 4%d, La Plate ty^. Beef.—The market is quiet, and there is small business doing. Cflillet hinds 4Vgd, fores 3d. Butter.—The market is quiet si"-! firm. A feeling of apprehension y - vails, however, on account of the st: that is threatening in the coal tra The average price for the week for choicest New Zealand was 1325, Australian 128s, Danish 138s, Siberian 1295, and Argentine 1225. Cheese.—The market is quiet but steady. Prices are firm and unchanged. New Zealand white 725, colored 71s 6d. Hemp.—The market is quiet, but steady. There are very few offers from the Dominion. Prices are more or lesa nominal at about the quotations already given. New Zealand good fair grade spot £2l ss, fair grade £2O ss, forward shipment New Zealand good fair £2l 10s, fair grade £2O 10s, fair current Manila spot £2l 15s, forward fair current Manila £2l 10s. The output from Manila for the week was 32,000 bales. Cocksfoot.—The market is firm, and little ie doing. Danish is quoted at 77s ex warehouse. Buyers are holding back until they know what the prospects of the crop are on the Continent. Wool.—There is better demand for merinos and coarse crossbreds at the last rate quoted.
