SEPARATION CASE.

SOME UNUSUAL FEATURES. • By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Saturday. Somewhat unusual, circumstances were • disclosed in a case brought,by Margaret Harrison for a separation order, her husband, Chas. Arthur Harrison, being charged with failing to provide for her ) maintenance. A previous application had | been made in Wellington and was abap- ; doned, according to defendant's solicitor, i because, offers had been made towards a settlement. Defendant is the proprietor of the Royal Hotel, Wellington, and counsel added this case.might be abandoned later in view of divorce proceedings. Plaintiff said she had been, living on what her husband had given her, and what jhe had saved, about £ISOO. There was probably about .£SOO remaining. She; admitted tha.t in Wellington she stayed at the best hptel, also that she wrote her husband a letter threatening to commit bigamy, but that was a joke. The Magistrate said he could not made an order on the evidence produced. Complainant was not destitute, nor was he satisfied she was not being ■ maintained. If she wished the matter thoroughly investigated she had better go to Wellington Supreme Court. The •ase was dismissed without prejudice.
