The Trades Hall Council carried a resolution that an international peace conference of delegates from Australia and New Zealand be held. IRON WORKS FOR' BROKEN HILL. Melbourne, February 24. At the half-yearly meeting bf Broken Hill Proprietary Mine the chairman announced that the manager was at present in Europe collecting information relating to the manufacture of iron and steel with a view to extending the Proprietary's enterprise. The company possessed a large deposit of good ironstone at Iron Knot, South Australia The Commonwealth's requirements of iron and steel rails would be large during the next few years. i STATE AS LANDLORD. • ■' ■ Sydney, February 24. In the Assembly Mr. Dacey introduced a Bill providing power for the Government to build houses for letting. The settlement which the Government proposes to raise is now known as Daceyville. J
