BRANDON ATTEMPTS ESCAPE. By Cable—Press Association->-Copyright. Received 25, 5.5 p.m. Berlin, February 24. Several papers announce that Lieut. Brandon attempted to escape from the fortress at Wesel. He filed through his window bars and succeeded in reaching the courtyard by a rope, but was recaptured by a sentry.
