FIRST CAMP OP INSTRUCTION. . < By Telegraph—Press Association. '''; }. Wellington, Last Night. The Minister for Defence (Sir Joseph Ward) has received the following telegram from General Godley, Commandant of the Forces:—"The first infantry camp .*' in the Dominion under the new scheme -'. has been most successful. Colonel Heard, ,• .'; who has been north, reports that the * spirit shown and instruction gained at the camp,of the 6th Hauraki Regiment ' was all that can be desired, and I have .'' the same to report of th© 4th Otago Regi- • ment here in spite of the very bad wea-' - ' taher. The new men have all taken the <? greatest interest in the work, and finished up their week's soldiering by marching - .' ■ 15 miles into Dunedin without casualties, •■}s> and in a style which, would have done : - i lj credit to a regular battalion. I think it ?"; would have a very good effect if you' would mike this public." '
