On the ground that Egypt has not renounced its rights to Eritrea, the Egyptian Government has remonstrated with Italy for recruiting troops in Eritrea for Tripoli Italy's action has evoked violent protests in the native press. • ITALY DECLARES SOVEREIGNTY OVER TRIPOLI. • "THE POLITICAL EQUILIBRIUM." Received 23, 12.30 a.m. Rome, February 23. A Bill was introduced into the Chamber ratifying the sovereignty over Tripoli and Cyrenaica, amid deafening cheers. The preamble declares that annexation is essentialto the equilibrium of political influences in the Mediterranean.
