EARTHQUAKE.
FEARS EOR THE SAFETY OF COSTA RICA. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 22, 10.25 p.m. Washington, February 22. The Costa Rican Minister has received a cablegram containing the single word VEarthquake." Fears are entertained that esine disaster has overtaken the place. The Costa Rican communications are interrupted. The Republic of Costa Rica is the most southern State of Central America, extending across the isthmus, containing an area of about 23,000 English square miles, and a population just under 400,000. A considerable amount of English capital is embarked in the Republic.
