FATAL TORNADO. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 22, 12.30 a.m. New York, February 21. A fierce tornado swept the outskirts of the town of Shreveport, Louisania. Six persons are known to have been killed, and many were injured and buildings were levelled. A UNIONIST PORTER. Received 22, 12.30 a.m. London, February 21. Judgment in connection with the alteration of the title of the Unionist poster at Shipley from "Free Trade" to "Tariff Reform," was annulled, plaintiffs accepting the appellent HKngs worth' 6 statement that he was unaware of the alteration of the posters.
A FRENCH RAILWAY LOAN. Received 22, 12.30 a.m. Paris, February 21. A twelve million 4 per cent, loan is being issued at par on March 23, and will be utilised for carrying out railway reforms.
AMERICAN COAL FOR BRITISH NAVY Reecived 22, 12.30 a.m. London, February 21. The Admiralty has ordered 10,000 tons ef American steam coal for Gibraltar.
KTJGE LINER BUILDING. Received 22, 12.35 a.m. London, February 21. Messrs. Harland and Wolff are build-' ing at Aberdeen a liner fifty feet losger tkan the Demosthenes. DESTRUCTION OF JUTE. Jeceived 22, 12.35 a.m. Bombay, February 21. Thirty thousand bales of jute have toeen burned or damaged, seriously dislocating the trade, inasmuch as the cuop is small. STATE IRONWORKS. Received 21, 9.3# p.m. Sydney, February 91. Cabinet has appointed Messrs. Holmaa, Griffiths and Beeby a special committee to enqsire into the establishment of State ironworks.
