NARROW ESCAPE OF A BLOCK. , The Record gives further details of' 1 * the fire at Inglewood on Tuesday night. It eays:—lt was owing to"the invariable ' rule of Mr, Young, in charge of Messrs. The water, however, did not g reach it in any very serious quantity, though it did to a slight extent in tie dressmaking department, jit was no doubt to the beating effect of the water pressure, and the fact that the wind was blowing frem the west, that the whole . block is not now a simple heap of ashes, as there was every other element necesrv for- a huge conflagration in the posi- * Won.
