ALTERATION OF MEMORANDUM OF ASSOCIATION. is hereby given that a petition was, on the 29th day of Janu- ; ary, 1012, presented to the Supreme Court of New Zealand, Northern (Taranaki District), by the above-named company, praying for the confirmation by the Court of the alterations in the provisions of the Memorandum of Association of the Company, which are set out in the special resolution passed and confirmed at ■■ extraordinary general meetings of the Company, held respectively on the 11th day of November, 1911, and the. 30th day of November, 1911, in the terms following:—
"That with a view of carrying on the 'business of the company more economically and more efficiently,-and of carrying on businesses that under existing circumstances may conveniently or advantageously be combined with the business of the company, the memorandum of association of the company be altered In the manner following, namely:— "By including amongst the objects for which the company is established the following:— "(BI). To carry on the business of a General Co-operative Store, and to establish branches at all or any of the company's factories or creameries, and to buy and sell provisions, groceries, farm and dairy produce, grain and seeds, fertilisers, oils and colors, stationery, saddlery, ironmongery, timber, clothing, drapery and millinery, foods ftnd medicines for horses, cattle, pigs and poultry, and all other articles of farming or domestic use commonly required by farmers and dairymen and their families, and to grant special privileges or. advantages to shareholders purchasing goods from the company.
And that the directors of the company are hereby directed to petition the Supreme Court of New Zealand to confirm this alteration." And that such petition is directed to be heard before the Honorable Mr. Justice Edwards at the Supreme Courthouse, New Plymouth, on the Cth day of March, 1912. at 10 a.m., or on the "first day as soon thereafter as counsel can be heard, and that any person interested in the said company, whether as a debenture holder, creditor, or otherwise, desiring to be heard in opposition to the making of the order prayed in the said petition should appear ai the time of hearing in person or by counsel. A copy of the said petition may be obtained from Messrs. Govett and Quilliam, of New Dymouth, the solicitors for the company, on payment of the sum of four shillings.
