WANGANTJI SESSIONS.

Wanganui, Monday, The Supreme Court opened to-day. Addressing the Grand Jury) the Chief Justice congratulated the district on the fact that there, were only four criminal cases, two of which were not serious. He hoped this showed that the present ' method of dealing\with crime was having a good effect, and trusted that it was an indication of the time when crime would be greatly diminished, though we could not hope to abolish it altogether. True Bills were returned in the cases Rex v. Stewart, Rex v. Zeiglcr, and Rex T.' Vinsen. In the ease of Ziegler, who was charged with stabbing a man at Mangaweka on February 3, a verdict of guilty was returned, and accused was remanded for sentence till Wednesday.

DUNEDIN DIVORCE CASES.

Dunedin, Last Night. In the Supreme Court decrees nisi were granted in the following divwce cases:—Mary Mason Kidd v. Thomas Allen Kidd. desertion; Mary Hannah Jolly v. Robert Jolly, misconduct; Mary Sinclair v. Jas. Sinclair, desertion; Margaret King v. Frederick Henry King, desertion. ' .
