ROBBERIES RAMPANT.
By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 18, 5.5 p.m. Xew York, February 17. Two men jumped from a taxi-cab and entered a jeweller's establishment at Maiden lane, New York. They beat the jeweller and dashed off with a large booty, valued at £3OOO. Robberies are so numerous that business men are applying for permission to carry revolver^. A masked and armed man held up the Vandalla train at Terri Haute, Indiana, and looted the express cars. He escaped with a large sum.
