Biagio Chiavaaoli, the steward on an estate at Teramo, was dismissed from his position three days ago. Sleeplessness resulted in madness, and then he secured a scythe and hacked to death his aged mother, wife, eldest daughter and servant. He then fired the house and ignited several haystacks. He killed his baby and mutilated several others. He failed in an attempt at suicide.
