Sydney, February 15. Mr. Wade is leading a strong campaign against the Government's new taxation proposals, which he declares are unnecessary.

In referring to the rapid rise in rents he declared that Mr. Griffiths, Minister of Works, seized the opportunity to ask the exorbitant rent of 21s for a cottage of three rooms and a kitchen.

In view of the meeting of Parliament next week Cabinet will discuss the trouble arising out of the revolt of members, including several Laborites, against Speaker Willis' rulings, and the depletion of the Hansard staff.

The Attorney-General states that he has, come to the conclusion that the Speaker has not Ministerial powers attributed to him in the Royal Commission's recent report, but is amenable to Parliament.
