ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Taranaki 1 District,' Ancient Order of. Foresters tya« , I held in the Foresters' Hall, New Ply- 1 mouth, on Tuesday, February 13. There were present:—-District Chief. Ranger Bro. C. H. Weston (in the chair); -D.S.C.B. Bro. R. Fawcett, D.T. Bro. H, R. Cattley, D.S. Bro. C. Tunbridge- and D.B. Sister L. Tunbridge. The following delegates represented the undermetf-. tioned courts :—Court Taranaki, P.C.R. Bro. A. J. Way; Waireka, P.D.Q.R. Bro.. A. Tunbridge and P.C.R. Bro. T. M. ' Avery; Pa tea, 1 P.C.R. Bro. 0. Raleigh, -P.C.R. Bro. R. G. Sampen; Ejg; mont, P.C.R. Bro. H. Baker; Inglewood,. Forest, P.C.R. Bro. G. W. Bennett and ' P.C.R. Bro. W. Stimpson; Stratford,. *.' P.C.R. Bro. W. Weston referred to the 1 loss (the district. has., sustained through the death of the late Bro.Peach,, P.D.C.R., who was termed as the "Father of Forestry in Inglewood." Bro. Peach was at the opening of Court' Inglewood Forest in the year 1876, and was i elected, fa tjiq office of secretary in the sam? yiear, and held office till 1903, During the year a new court, "Lady Islington," was opened at Stratford, and its delegate sat for the first time to-day. • It was decided to appomt a delegate to represent this district at' a meeting »f Foresters to be held in Wellington in April next re the formation of a subsidiary High Court for New Zealand. The district officers reported that Court Inglewood Forest had qbtained the most, new* members for last year, the total initiated being 48. Election of officers:—District. Chief Ranger Bro. R. On the motion of Court Waireka it was decided to present C. H. Weston with P.D.C.R. Jewel, and that his nanut be placed oil the Merit Board. D.C.R. Bro. R, Fawcett, on behalf of the district, presented Bro. Weston with the jewel, who suitably replied. The catering was dop by tte-Hygienic and was .*«£ a first-class order/" " :
