'The Picture event of this evening is the running of the Taranaki Cup at the Empire Theatre. Yesterday Mr. Brandon Haughton, the .expert employed,, by the proprietary, succeeded in obtaining a remarkably successful record of Lady Menschiksff's popular . win. Good glimpses flf the crowd were also obtained, and those who were unfortunate enough to miss the excellent meeting will be able to indulge their sporting , proclivities, indoors. In its way the victory of the mare was top-notch, for from a poor place in the field she triumphed and finished magnificently. It will be clearly seen in the picture what a smart finish took place. The programme will be enriched with a large number of notable records,; scenic, dramatic and comic, screened in the perfect manner which has made the . Empire Pictures second to none in Australasia.
