MIXED MARRIAGES.
AN OUTSPOKEN BISHOP. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Wednesday. Preaching to the Mothers' Union at the Cathedral this morniiig, Bishop Julius dealt with' family life and the duties of mothers. In that regard, he said, the Roman Catholic Church wisely declared marriage between members of it» own communion and members of other communions really null and void. He did not agree with the methods adopted, but added: "Personally I would do everything I could to stop mixed marriages. Being what they are, I set my face against mixed marriages, because I know how destructive they are of family unity and family religion. I have known many cases where grievous harm has been done above alt to childron by such marriages. If a Roman Catholic marries one of our daughters he is either unfaithful to his Church or has no real, religion, and in his heart regards that 1 woman as not truly his wife," Bishop Julius also warned his hearers against the Socialist attack on family life and marriage. j
