SWIMMING
Swimmers and tlie public generally will find plenty of interest in the programme drawn up by the New Plymouth Amateur Swimming Club for its evening sports in the municipal baths on Friday next. The programme is a diversified 'one and the spectacular side has not been neglected. In addition to two interclub handicap, a maiden handicap, and a young ladies' race, provision 'has been made for an exhibition of fancy diving by Mr. Lints, a young ladies' relay race, and a captain's v. vice-captain's relay race. A round will also he got off in connection with the Williams Memorial Cup for boys. Several races are held in connection the trophy throughout the season, the cup going to the boy with the highest aggregate. That it will be worth while for all boys to enter is shown -by the fact that for merely starting in a race each competitor receives one point; winning a heat, three points; second in a heat, two points; third in a heat, tone point; winning 'final heat, 3 points; second in final heat, two points; 3rd in final heat, one point.
