ENTERTAINMENTS
EMPIRE THEWPRB.
The Empire Pictures were shown lost night to a large and delighted audience, and the present programme is replete with items of interest ranging from quick_ glances at current happenings to magnificently acted dramas of real life. There is at the moment a specially rich selection of those comedy films which are so entertaining, and it is the habit of the_ management to select only those subjects which "any daughter might take her mother to see." The educational and scenic films comprise some exquisite and artistic records, and altogether the standard is magnificently maintained. The effective orchestra, which selects popular music appropriate to the pictures, adds much to the pleasure of a night at the Empire.
