A preliminary point in connection with the litigation between the Marconi Wireless Company and Huddart, Parker and Co., in the form of a summons by defendant to give surety for costs and to Bhow cause why the action should aot be stayed until such sum is paid orsecurity given, on the ground that plaintiff iB resident out 'of New Zealand, was decided by Mr. Justice Chapman to-day. His Honor held that the proper sum to be deposited or adequately secured by plaintiff was £IOOO, and made an order accordingly. Argument on the point raised in the case Marconi Wireless Company v. The King as to whether the Crown is liable for infringement has been removed to the Court of Appeal. ' LAKE ROTOMAHANA. Rotorua, Friday. In reference to Guide Warbrick's report on Lake Rotomahana, the unusual thermal activity noticed about the nridfile of January has now ceased. The. lake is now practically back to its normal color, and ia regaining clarity every 1 day. The only noticeable feature in the neighborhood at present is the more than usual activity in the Waimangu basin.
