Captain Todd, superintendent of the Tyser Steamship Co., who ,has been 'visiting New Plymouth, left again yesterday. A Christehufrch wire says that Sir Arthur Guinness stated, in reply to a question, that he would accept nomination for the Speakership. Mr. W. T. Ccfad, of the Post and Telegraph Department, has just returned to New Plymouth, after a week's tour of inspection: of some of the post offices in the backblocks of Taranaki. Archbishop Wright, Primate <yf Australia, arrived in Christchurch by the Ulimaroa yesterday morning. His Grace is on a visit to the Dominion for the benefit of his health, and informed a Press reporter that already he felt much benefited. The Archbishop also remarked that lie was charmed with the scenery of New Zealand. He spent the day in Christchurch, anl leaves to-day day for Dunedin en route for the Cold Lakes district.—Christchurch wire.
