BIG FIRE.

DESTROYS HALF TOWNSHIP. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. 1 Sydney, February 8. A fire at Mimgrinda wiped out the main business portion of the town. Sixteen stores and other business premises were destroyed or badly damaged, including the Bank of New South Wales. Many are homeless, numbers escaping in their night clothes only. There is no water supply. The damage is in the vicinity of £30,000. The thermometer registered 108 deg. shade temperatude at the time of the outbreak.
