EMPEROR OP MANCHUS. REPUBLICANS TREAT ROYALTIES WELL HEAVY PENSIONS TO BE PAID. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 9, 1.15 a.m. Pekin, February 8. The Republican Cabinet has approved the abdication terms, with slight modifications. The Emperor in future will be known as the "Emperor of the Manchus," and will reside at the outset in the Forbidden City, but eventually in the Summer Palace. The Chinese will show him due courtesy, but not fealty and obedience. The Republic will supply a bodyguard. The present Palace staffs will be retained, and the Emperor will annually receive four million dollars (taels will be abolished when the currency is reformed). All the private property of the Emperor, and of the Manchu, Tibetan and Mongol princes will be respected.
