Iredale, describing the Hill-McAlister quarrel, states that McAlister told Hill he was the worst captain he had ever seen. Hill leaned across the table and struck him on the face. They then fought, going at it -like'hammer and The bout lasted twenty, minutes; both were game and- determined. Iredale and Smith tried to separate them, but were unable to do so. London, February 6. The newspapers regret Hill's resignation from the board of selectors. The Sportsman suggests that McAlister could better have been spared. A smoke concert is to be tendered at the Red House Hotel to-night to Mr. W. Perham, who is leaving the district, and advantage will be taken of the opportunity to make presentations to Messrs. Matthews and Gwillim.
