The Methodist local preachers in the Castlemaine district have struck owing to a dispute with the superintendent of ministers, and some services lapsed. THE SINGER COMPANY. Perth, February 5. Mr. Brown, of the Singer Company, informed the court that he had a complete 'answer to the charges against him. THE TRAIN FIRE. Sydney, February 5. The fire was discovered by a passenger 'while the train was in motion. It was pulled up and the thirty-five passengers in the two corridor cars made a hurried exit. They lost all their belongings. The cars were completely destroyed. The damage is valued at £3sos. The cause is unknown, but it w;is probably the bush fires. .
