TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. FIRST DAY'S ACCEPTANCES. The splendid acceptances received ky the Taranaki Jockey Club for the first day of the autumn meeting are a distinct compliment to the handicapping of Mr. Morse. That gentleman's adjustment of weights must have pleased owners and trainers, because defections from the list are very few. The local followers of the "sport of kings" can therefore look forward to a splendid meeting, and good fields from which to pick their fancy on Wednesday and Thursday next.
