INGLEWOOD NEWS.
(From Our Own Corr«Mnd«nt.) The Boy Scouts held their weekly field day on Thursday afternoon at Mr. Kennedy's farm, where they were instructed m hut building.' The, framework of a good-sized "Kaffir kraal" was erected. I his was built with saplings and supplejacks, fastened together with flax. Next Ihursday afternoon they intend to so out again and thatch it over. The build-in?,-'f^ 011 * Uii - i ll circumference and 10ft h lg h m the centre. After the framework v<w finished, the troop, in response to the kind,invitation of Mrs. Kennedy proceeded to the house and were very hospitably treated. Games were indulged mas Jong as it was possible to see The ■lads then "made tracks" for home, tired but happy. ,'
■On the evening of the same day the Inglewood'Swimming Glub held their annual carnival in the local swimming baths There was a very good attendance, both of spectators and competitors Ihe events and winners were as follows--Jsovice Handicap, L. J*\ d P ; Mr - R - H - Ge <ldes, starter; and Mr. Murray Fowler, timekeeper. The number of swimmers in the water constituted a record for Inglewood there being some 72. The,, weather is beautifully fine at present, and, as is usual in fine weather we are wondering when 60 'me steps to njodify the dust nuisanc* will be taken by those in authority.
