MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

Sitting in his civil jurisdiction at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, Mr. H. S. Fitzherbert, S.M., gave judgment for the plaintiff by default in the following cases:—Kate Jury v. A. D. Bayfield, £6 and costs £1 3s jiid; W. Nichols v. W. E. Cooper, £6 2s and costs £1 3s 6d; L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd v. Berge and Henwood, £22 14s 2d, and costs £3 Is; J. Hoskin -v. J. Henderson, His and 5s costs; Henry Weston v. J. A. Paulger, lGs and costs 14s; M. Shivan v. J. W. Trice, £1 Is and costs ss; H. Goodin and Co. v. Win. Te Whiti, £22 7s 6d and costs £3 2s; same v. Wini Horo, £6 19s 5d and costs £1 13s 6d; L. D. Nathan and Co., Ltd. v. Wm. Skipworth, £3 7s 2d and costs 10s; J. Magnott v. Jas. Bi'osnaii, £1 KJs Od and costs £1 3s. In the judgment summons case of Thos. Walsli v. Jas. Mouatt, claim £1 Bs, defendant, who made no appearance, was ordered to pay within seven days, or in default undergo seven days' imprisonment. After a partial hearing an adjournment was granted in the case of James Rotherv v. E. M. II Jones, on account of the smhkii indisposition of the presiding magistrate. Mr. Grey appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. IT.'Jolmstone for the defendant.
