WHOLESALE EXECUTIONS. ■ JAPAN MAY MOVE. Received 31, 1.30 a.m. Pekin, January 30. There is a reign of terror at Muken. I Revolutionary suspects are arrested and nightly executed. The last victims include the president of the Municipal Council and two respected members of the Progressive Society. The Chinese are terror-stricken, and are appealing to Japan for protection. The Japanese Legation at Pekin fears that action may become necessary. The Japanese fleet has arrived at Port Arthur for winter manoeuvres. It is believed the real object is to watch the revolutionary cruisers and transports at Chefoo.
